gpupgrade Post-upgrade Phase

When you have completed upgrading to the new Greenplum Database version, you can stop the gpupgrade hub and agent processes, and remove the gpupgrade control directory and saved source data directories.

  1. Run pkill gpupgrade on all hosts, including the master and standby hosts. You can use the gpssh utility with a host file:

    $ gpssh -f <hostfile> -e "pkill gpupgrade"
  2. Remove the gpupgrade control directory from all hosts.

    $ gpssh -f <hostfile> -e "rm -rf .gpupgrade"
  3. Remove the saved source data directories.

    $ gpssh -f <hostfile> -d "rm -rf <data-directory-name>_old"
